Cancer Survivor Zachary Carruth Honored as 2017 Offense-Defense All-American

This past Friday night members of Offense-Defense's Bowl Selection Committee traveled from our headquarters in Myrtle Beach, SC over to Twin City, GA to honor 2017 O-D All-American Zachary Carruth.

Zach, a senior defensive tackle at Emanuel County Institute, is also a cancer survivor who was told at age 10 that he'd never be able to pursue his dream of playing football - and possibly may never even walk again due to malignancies in both of his feet.

That obviously wasn't good enough for Zach, and at age 12 he bravely beat the odds and was cleared by his doctors to be able to play the game he loved so much - and has been ever since.

We couldn't be more excited to welcome Zach to the O-D Family, and can't wait to see him on the field this winter at the 11th Annual Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in Atlanta!
